About the Event
What - Potters Market Invitational is a one-day ceramics sale on the lawn of the Mint Museum featuring functional, decorative, and sculptural ceramic works
Why - Potters Market is presented by the Delhom Service League, the ceramics affiliate of the Mint Museum, whose mission includes the promotion of the ceramic arts. The goal of the show is to showcase top ceramic artists, to help those artists in selling their work, and to raise funds to support the Delhom's educational programming and the Mint's ceramics collections
Who - This year's show features 66 potters from across North Carolina who were invited to participate because they are among the top working ceramic artists in the state
When - Potters Market is Saturday, Sept. 8, 2018 with general admission 10:00am to 4:00pm
Tent - This year, we will have an expanded tent to accommodate the largest show ever
Pottery Demos - Join us for LIVE demonstrations of both wheel-thrown and hand-built pottery going on throughout the day. For information on the schedule, the artists, and the type of work they will be demonstrating, click here

Music - Live bluegrass music from Arnold Clayton and The Roustabouts will be offered all day
Food - Delectables by Holly will return for their 14th year providing delicious options throughout the day. Click here to see the complete menu of their offerings, including breakfast items until 10:30, lunches in the cafe on the Plaza (11:00-1:30), and snacks in the beer garden (11:00-3:30). (Pre-orders of lunches has ended, but Holly's team will be ready to serve you on Saturday).
Beer Garden - NEW for 2018! - Take a break from shopping to enjoy a cold beverage and the music. Featuring local craft beer from Birdsong Brewing, as well as wine, other beverages, and snacks from Delectables by Holly.
Museum Admission - Your PMI ticket also provides entry to the full collections of both the Mint Museum Randolph and the Mint Museum Uptown on Saturday, September 8. The Mint Museum Randolph will open early at 10:00am, and both locations are open on Saturdays until 6:00pm.
Docent Tours - Join one of the Mint docents for a tour of a portion of the Mint’s acclaimed ceramics collections. At 10:00 & 11:00, enjoy a 30-minute presentation on “The Art of Dining” that explores the historic work in the Portals to the Past galleries. At 1:00 & 1:30, docents will present 10-minutes “Dot Talks” in the Wares of the World exhibit in the Robicsek Gallery, where many of the pieces on display were made by potters participating in this year’s Potters Market.
