Donna Craven

I make decorative and functional wood-fired, salt-glazed pottery

I'm known for my larger pieces that are thrown and coiled. My work is grounded in tradition, yet reflects my own influence that produces a combination of strength, simplicity and gracefulness.  My goal is to create continuity between the form and the surface of the piece in order to bring it to life. I began as a Seagrove Journeyman potter in 1996. I have a deep respect for the integrity of the Seagrove tradition.  It has an honest and simple strength that rings true to me.
