Ibrahim Said's work is inspired by ancient Egyptian shapes and the geometry of Islamic art
Ibrahim Said's work is inspired by the work of ancient Egyptians as well as the geometry of Islamic art. His signature work embodies a lightness that comes from his silhouettes, small bases, and delicate finials. Combining strong lines and bold shapes with ancient jug filter carvings, Said pays homage to the history of the vessel but strives to also speak to the autonomy of contemporary sculpture.
